Michelle Steel’s legislation to enhance security cooperation between the United States and Taiwan, a key democratic ally in the Indo-Pacific. The bipartisan legislation was included as part of the FY 2025 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), the annual funding measure for the U.S. Armed Forces. The Transpacific Allies Investing in Weapons to Advance National (TAIWAN) Security Act deepens security ties between the U.S. and Taiwan by requiring the U.S. Secretary of Defense to enhance industrial base cooperation between the two countries. Strengthening the security alliance will also promote defense supply chain security while improving both nations’ military readiness, a key priority as Communist Chin a increases military exercises around Taiwan. 繼續閱讀請點選下面這個數字 [16.8.24] “The TAIWAN Security Act further solidifies America’s unbreakable alliance with Taiwan, a bright light for democracy in East Asia,” said Rep. Steel. “At a time when the Chinese Communist Party continues to threaten Taiwan’s security, it is crucial for America to stand up for the values of freedom and democracy and against the CCP’s campaign of aggression. I’m proud to be a strong and effective voice for defending Taiwan and promoting stability in the region, which was reflected by the inclusion of my legislation in the NDAA.” The House version of the NDAA boosts salaries for members of the military, including a nearly 20% pay raise for junior enlisted servicemembers. The legislation also takes steps to counter Communist China’s espionage campaign while increasing support for Israel amidst their battle with Hamas. https://steel.house.gov/media/press-releases/steels-taiwan-security-act-passes-us-house
