文明人的生活習性－-抽水馬桶文化

記得小時候，廁所叫便所(台語)或茅房，大多設在屋外獨立的房間，以免味道影響到屋內的空氣。進到裡面，看著下面滿堆大小便，上面還有很多蠕動的白色蛆蛹，蹲在茅坑上，還要忍受刺鼻的臭味，恨不得以最快速度完成”解放”動作，迅速逃出來，也不會去想到如何使後來的使用者舒適些，其實也不知道有什麼方法可以改善。茅房就永遠成為藏污納垢孳生蚊蠅的地方。
長大以後，台灣引進了西式抽水馬桶，廁所改稱淨房、洗手間、盥洗室、化妝室，不論使用便斗或馬桶，進去是乾淨甚至有香味的空間，有些人家還可能放一盆花。當然使用者，也應該協助保持乾淨清爽，於是就形成了現代人的抽水馬桶文化。
洗手間裡各色各樣的標語，如：「來也匆匆，去也沖沖。何妨暫且放輕鬆。」「為人為己、方便多多。不管您再怎麼急，請記得沖水。」」「請體諒打掃人的辛苦，保持廁所內的乾淨。」「凡尿過必留下痕跡，凡大過必留下異味，記得！去沖沖！免得我；氣沖沖！」「人生自古如廁樂，留取清潔剋蚊蟲。」「來到此地要隨俗、手理要拿衛生紙，上完廁所擦屁股、洗完雙手才舒服。」「向前一步靠，廁所芬芳好。」「靠近一點，瞄準正確。」「掃射，亂射，不如瞄準再射。你可以再靠近一點，記得請瞄準後再射。」「排便乃人生大事、請保持廁所的整潔，謝謝您的合作。」
以上林林種種，無非是提醒使用人，在享受前人給我們留下的美好環境後，要常記得提供後面的使用者一個舒適的空間。最近曾經在桃園八德的聖保祿醫院的便斗下方看到一圈藍色標靶，牆面上寫著：「如果你的小便未能使藍色標靶變紅，請到泌尿科就診。」真是給老人男性很貼心的提醒。
浴室的窗戶不要完全關閉，可以保持空氣流通，減少長時間使用熱水淋浴時，造成浴室內氧氣不足。尤其是浴室內若裝有瓦斯爐熱水器，更不可關閉窗戶，以減少瓦斯中毒的危險。當然最好是不要將熱水器裝在浴室內！
在佛教的寺院裏，每當上淨房（洗手間）時，都會見到淨房內大小淨器具，牆壁上方張貼著發願的偈文，寫著：「大小便時，當願眾生，棄貪瞋癡，蠲(去)除罪法。事訖就水，當願眾生，出世法中，速疾而往。洗滌形穢，當願眾生，清淨調柔，畢竟無垢。」更是廁所文明最高表現了。
便器有蹲式與座式兩種，公共場所應該設立足夠的兩種便器，並標示清楚，有些人不喜歡座式，有些人不會用蹲式，尤其老人，可能蹲下去站不起來，醫院評鑑要求蹲式便器旁邊要有扶手方便使用者站起來。當然，公共場所應設有足夠的女性廁所空間，減少女同胞排長列等候的時間與不便。殘障用的廁所應該獨立在男女廁所之外，免得推輪椅的異性家屬尷尬。

Dear participants,

Ladies and gentlemen

It is a great honor for me to be here today on behalf of His Excellency Mr. Minister of Health and the Leaders from MOH at this ceremony for awarding the Medals “For the Health Care of Vietnam People” of MOH to three Professors: Prof Rong Chi Chen from Taiwan, Prof. Daniel Jaeck and Prof. Daniel Maitrot from France. First of all I’d like to express our sincere thanks and our greatest congratulations to them, and warmly welcome all invitees who are present here.
Distinguished guests,
Viet Duc Friendship Hospital is a leading Center in the System of Surgical facilities in Vietnam, with main 7 missions assigned by MOH: 1/ providing health care services to people, 2/ Training health professionals, 3/ Performing scientific research, 4/ Providing outreach activities, 5/ Assisting preventive measures, 6/ Enhancing international cooperation and partnership, and 7/ implementing economic management in Health Care.
During many years the Hospital successfully fulfills its missions assigned by Government, and to achieve that we have to recognize a great contribution of highly qualified specialists who have been trained on site and abroad. The Hospital develops very good cooperation and partnership with many countries especially with France and Taiwan.
Through this cooperation and partnership we have got a precious and effective support from our friends, such as Prof. Rong Chi Chen - the establisher and First Director of Hospital En Chu Kong. Since 1998, via Taipei Cultural and Economic Office in Hanoi, he has admitted and trained approximately 100 Vietnamese doctors and nurses, among those many are from Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, in various specialties such as: Surgery, Anesthesia and Resuscitation, Endoscopy, Trauma and Orthopedics, Nursing and Hospital Management. Prof Daniel Jaeck has been Medical Director of Strassbourg Hospital, Vice-President of International Society of Cancer, and is now responsible for training of Vietnamese residents in France. Since 1975 he has been in Vietnam many times for teaching, and he has admitted many Vietnamese doctors in France for training. He has offered a special support to Vietnamese doctors in their training and research. Prof Daniel Maitrot - the former Head of NeuroSurgery Department of Strassbourg Hospital, has directly trained almost all NeuroSurgeons in Viet Duc and other Hospitals in Vietnam. He has come to Vietnam many times to participate into scientific meetings, to support the Vietnamese patients in performing interventions.
Following the return to Vietnam, all trainees can ensure the health care services with high quality and become active core person in health facilities in Vietnam in general and in Viet Duc Friendship Hospital in particular.
On behalf of Ministry of Health I would like to express our deepest gratitude to these professors for their effective support. Based on the request of Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, Ministry of Health in accordance with State authorization honors these 3 professors with the Medals for their great contribution. We wish you all a great health and look forward to having your further collaboration with Viet Duc Friendship Hospital and Vietnam Health System in the future.

母親生前掙扎說出的最後一句話是「謝謝」。

但是在她走後，這個「謝」字卻像是一塊不斷長大的石頭，重重的壓在心頭。今天，也是她走後第四天，我決定坐下來寫這篇短文。因為唯有這麼做，我才能為父母親在臨終時所受的痛苦找到一絲意義；也唯有這麼做，我才能面對母親臨終的那句「謝謝」。

我以這篇文章，祝禱所有我的親人、朋友、所有善良的人永遠不會經歷我、以及我父母所經歷的苦痛。
